Coming Together, 11/19

Ecumenical prayer for peace and transformation.
Our Lady of the Presentation Chapel
Sunday, November 19 from 4:00-6:00 p.m.

Come Together is a movement that began in north Minneapolis churches after the shooting of Philando Castile. Father Paul Jarvis from St. Bridget’s and parishioner Bonnie Steele, who is a St. Kate’s graduate, opened their sanctuary to the neighbors. People have been gathering once a month around the Twin Cities since then.

Come Together isn’t another project to be done for others. It is a transformative gathering with others. Join Come Together Twin Cities and the CSJ Community for song, stories and prayer for peace, for an end to violence; hearts and people who are loved and held tenderly.

The film highlights the struggles of a young immigrant from Venezuela, Johana, who has lived in the U.S. for more than 20 years without papers. It was only after the introduction of DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals), which aids Dreamers, that Johana was able to participate fully in American society.
