Need help mending or sewing?

Could you use help with mending or sewing? Is your house in need of cleaning as we look forward to spring?

Kathy Ryan is recommending a master seamstress and a trustworthy hardworking woman. She is from Sarah’s… An Oasis for Women, a ministry of the Sisters of St. Joseph for women in transition. She is looking for opportunities to help you with any sewing or housekeeping needs. She would require transportation for cleaning jobs. Please contact Sarah’s house manager for more information: Peggy White at 612-999-5035.

We are grateful for your generous support of Sarah’s and its residents. Watch for an invitation to learn more about Sarah’s at a free breakfast event on the morning of June 12th.

Second Sunday Faith Sharing, 3/10

We gather at 9:30 in the Chapel
Opening Prayer begins at 9:35. Followed by reading of the Gospel and discussion in small groups of 5 or 6 participants..
First Sunday of Lent Readings:
Deuteronomy 26:4-10, Romans 10:8-13, Luke 1-13:
The theme of our sharing is Lent. Lent involves us in prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. What does that mean to us personally?
Let’s explore how we looked at Lent in our early years and how that has changed.
Our Gospel Reading is the Temptations in the desert. Jesus used this time to get ready for his ministry. He prayed. He fasted. He faced the demons of power, fame and idols, all of which could keep him from what he was born to do. He prepared himself to give himself to his ministry. The desert was a retreat that gave him time and space, a preparation for his life and commitment to God’s will for him as seen through the prophets and through his heart of Love. What will the time and space of Lent mean for us?
