Palm Sunday Faith Sharing, 4/14

Palm Sunday Faith sharing at Our Lady of Victory Chapel at St. Catherine University on April 14th, 9:30 a.m. followed by the 10:30 procession of palms and the Sunday Liturgy.

Think about this: The mysteries of Holy Week: On Palm Sunday the worshipers first take the enthusiastic part of the crowds that welcome Jesus to Jerusalem with waving palms. Then during the passion they take the part of the crowd that yells, “Crucify him,” at Jesus’ trail before Pilate. The liturgies of Holy Week give worshipers parts to act out: waving palms, foot washing, venerating the cross, holding candles lit from the new fire of the Easter candle. For our discussion: What memories of Holy Week stand out for you? What touches your heart the most in the Holy Week liturgies? How can we look at a crucified Messiah as our leader or guide? Do you know anyone who is suffering that gives you hope? “For Christians, Jesus’ death and resurrection are one inseparable whole.” In your life how do you connect your crosses with resurrection?
